How to ship fresh truffle: prepare dispatch and arrival

Fresh truffle delivery starts before a box is dispatched: the buyer needs to identify the destination and the date they want the first delivery. Iberian Truffle Trade supplies fresh Tuber melanosporum from Teruel, Spain, never frozen. Truffles are packed on harvest day and shipped directly in under 48 hours. For the buyer, the practical task is to connect those handling facts with a clear request and appropriate care on arrival.

Start with the receiving destination

Give the destination airport in your request, together with the country. An airport is a specific requested detail, so do not leave it out simply because the country appears elsewhere in the enquiry. Include your first delivery date to make the intended receiving schedule clear from the beginning of the discussion.

Markets include the UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the EU. If your message contains delivery questions, tie them to the destination you have named. A market list is not a substitute for discussing your own request, and it does not set out country specific customs requirements.

Understand the stated packing and shipping approach

Packing takes place on harvest day. Direct shipping is under 48 hours, using isothermal packaging that follows IATA requirements. These are the stated handling and shipping facts; they do not provide a numerical storage temperature, a shelf life or a separate claim about certifications. Keep any additional handling questions explicit when you enquire.

The product is fresh and never frozen. Do not plan the receiving process around a frozen product or assume that the packaging supplies instructions beyond those actually provided. Use the instructions in the box as the handling reference at arrival, rather than substituting a generic temperature or storage period from another product.

Prepare documentation questions before ordering

For an export delivery, ask for the current documents list for your country. This guide does not specify customs procedures, duties or a guaranteed clearance outcome. The useful action is to request the current list for the destination in your enquiry and raise the questions that matter to your receiving arrangements.

Keep the documentation enquiry alongside the country and destination airport, so that it is clear which destination you mean. Do not copy assumptions from a different market into the request. The product specification and the documents discussion address different parts of the purchase; both should be clear before the order is placed.

Receive the product and follow the box instructions

On arrival, follow the instructions in the box. Keep the truffles cool and avoid heat. No numerical temperature or shelf life is given here, so do not use this guide to set a storage figure or a fixed period for holding the product. Ask directly if you need clarification of the supplied instructions.

The intended preparation remains relevant when arranging receipt: Extra is for table shaving, Grade I for kitchen use where shape is unimportant, and Grade II for sauces, butter and infusions, including volume buyers. Agree the final specification before ordering rather than expecting the delivery process to resolve an unclear product requirement.

Send a complete delivery related enquiry

Provide company, country, work email, buyer role, grade, weekly kilograms, destination airport, first delivery date and a message. Extra and Grade I are more than 20 grams; Extra is round or oval and Grade I irregular. Grade II is under 20 grams, irregular, whole or broken. State the grade you want considered for the order.

The harvest runs from November to March with trained dogs. Prices are never published; offers are requested and determined by the market after harvest begins. Outside the season, the reply gives the next harvest date instead of a price. First orders require 100% prepayment. For payment methods, minimum quantities, samples or organic availability, contact us rather than assuming a condition for your delivery.
